Yes, when most people think of northern pike they think of Wisconsin and Michigan, but we found a few boat launches into the Kankakee River that will hopefully lead to catching some of these reputedly tenacious fish. Local fisherman claim to have caught some, so why not us? One boat launch is at the very end of fourth street, another is in Old River Isle, and yet another is in Backwaters Farm. Take Highway 114 east 5 or 6 miles and take a left on State Line Road, this should lead you right there. Kankakee State Park was also suggested but I imagine it is probably fished by a lot of people. Live bait like suckers and roaches is suggested. Good luck and happy fishing!
