I couldn’t believe it;   two big crappie in a row in two days of fishing!  This one is 17 1/2 inches long and 7 inches wide but, who’s complaining?  I have caught about 24 crappie in the last two days but most of them were in the 7 inch to 9 inch class.  And I’ve manage to catch two small bass (10 inch) and a really nice bluegill also 10 inches today.  Nearly all were caught on the "Swimmin Minnow".  And on my new St Croix fly rod.

Today I hit the jackpot!  On my first cast this afternoon with my flyrod I caught this beauty!  She’s 18 1/2 inches long and 7 3/4 inches wide.  I didn’t have my  camera with me when I went out this afternoon so, I kept it in the net, went back home,( 5 minutes), got my camera and took these pictures.   Oh, yes, I brought along my retractable tape ruler and measured her.  I couldn’t find a scale right away so , I just measured her and let her go as soon as I possibly could.  She’ll make great spawn genetically.  She is the biggest crappie I’ve ever caught.
